What changed from Forge, and what stays true. The operating idea is the same: a system someone runs and trusts. It just stopped being afraid of light.
Pages sit on one continuous atmospheric ground: a coral bloom, soft folds, fine grain. Never a flat fill, never a busy pattern. The background serves the content.
Three levels: inset, raised, floating. Soft ambient shadows are back, used to structure, not decorate. Glass panels only for things that sit above the page.
Coral stays the single accent at roughly 10%. Fills are now quiet gradients instead of flat swatches, so the accent feels lit, not printed.
Neutrals stay warm but pull further apart. Ground, card and well must be distinguishable at a glance. If two surfaces blur together, push the contrast.
Bricolage is display only, where its character lands. Instrument Sans carries body and UI. JetBrains Mono measures everything with a number in it.
Sections reveal on scroll with a slow, expensive ease. Hovers lift and light up. Nothing bounces, nothing loops, and reduced motion is always respected.
The Forge palette survives, with deeper ink, crisper hairlines and two working gradients. Coral is the only accent. Gold whispers in the canvas and nowhere else without a reason.
The biggest change. Every page gets one continuous background built from these layers, fixed behind the content so no section seam ever shows. Pick one recipe per page and let the rest stay quiet.
Three voices with clear jobs. Bricolage keeps the brand's character where size lets it perform. Instrument Sans makes paragraphs and UI read clean and current. JetBrains Mono replaces Space Mono for anything measured.
Forge separated surfaces by tone and a hairline only. Ember adds a real elevation ramp. Radii tighten a touch so cards read precise instead of puffy.

Deep espresso ground with an interior ember bloom and grain. For the one bold message per page. In dark mode it goes near-black and the bloom carries it.
